I called the company prior to arrival to ensure snow tires would be on the vehicle as they are mandatory on the roads during my stay. I was told yes my rental would come with snow tires When I arrived I was charged an extra $150 for my rental period as snow tires are extra. Very upset about this as I could have called other companies to ensure snow tires were included as advised by telephone

Same car could have been rented downtown or anywhere else in Vancouver for 700 to 900$. We have paid 1900$. Never again. We will take a shelter or Uber and go rent it somewhere else.

Very nice vehicle. Clean, well kept, no damage. Only downside was the requirement for winter tires in BC which I tried to account for with my vehicle selection (intermediate SUV). The reservation was for a one way trip from Vancouver to Calgary. Sections of the mountains require winter tires by law. I called in advance to add winter tires to my booking and was told over the phone that they had to be added at the pick up counter which didn't make sense (wouldn't they need to know in advance to have the vehicle prepared or the correct vehicle available?)... At the pick up counter, I was told the only vehicles available with winter tires would be an additional $50/day. We ended up being charged an additional $200 in total to have the legally required winter tires on the vehicle. I would've thought that a one way reservation through the mountains would prompt an appropriately equipped vehicle with the legally required tires to be available. Beware of the unexpected upfront fees.
