Did not have the full-sized Premium car I had ordered, and tried to convince me repeatedly that a Malibu was the same size and class as a Charger and would not offer me a discount when requested. Also took almost an hour to process - seemed quite disorganized and disconnected to customer service.

Once we found Avis within the Vancouver airport everything went smooth. The car was clean, ran well, and did what we needed it to do, get us from A to B. Drop off was easy as we were at the airport at 5am and there was no traffic or people.

I got problem when picking the car. it rumbles seems chassis issue from bottom. I immediately went back and talk to avis representative. he checked and drove for 2min and back confirmed issue, he immediately replaced a new honda odyssey van for me. the honda odyssey was super clean, quiet, new(1K+ miles). though I wasted some time due to this incident because I was in a hurry to drive to airport, I am very happy with the customer service, he made me feels very comfortable and in warm hand.

I liked that they accommodated by request to pick up the care earlier than originally booked. Albeit for the price of renting it for one more day. I did not like that * the car I got warned that an oil change was required right from the pick up and all through our holidays. Turns out the regular car inspections had already been delayed by nearly 10,000 km (needed at 30K, we got the car at 38K). * when calling them, it always took several attempts to get through, the connection was always spotty * upon pick up, a sequence of "just 5 minutes", "just another 20 minutes" resulted in waiting nearly an hour for the car to be ready

Paid for the car with extra cleaning it was covered in sand. Windshield cad a chip and passenger side door had a white scrape. Trying to to track anyone down from inside to report was impossible, and trying to get an actual human being on the phone was non existent. 4 to 5 numbers and endless messages. I tried to fill out their form on line, “we’re sorry your request can not be processed at this time”. I took photos instead. What I didn’t take photos of was the fuel gage. I returned to the same level and got nailed with a 17 litre fuel charge. “You took photos of the damage you should have taken photos of the fuel level.” Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty are all the same company, going to try elsewhere out of spite next time.

Car available on time. Easy pick up and drop-off. Car was dirty on the exterior with several scratches. Had to remember to take pictures of the scratches at the beginning of the rental and then email them to the Thrifty at the drop off to ensure we weren't charged for the scratches.

It was ok if you don’t have any car issues, otherwise the call service is terrible to help you out. We had flat tire issue( tires are worn out) couple hours after we had the car and took few hours to get help. The call center is terrible, they can’t really help you other than give you the car rental place number (can’t reach anyone). We have to find the number ourselves.

The car rental place I picked my car up from took 20 minutes to see me, 15 minutes to process and it took 25 minutes for my car to o be ready. Total time to get my car was 1 hour. Nice staff but extremely inefficient. Why not have the card ready when clients come in.

I was very upset with the rental agency. My husband went to go pick-up the car. First it was the wrong place. So they sent a car to pick him up and take him to the right place. Then upon arrival at the other location, they tell my husband that they need to first have him get in touch with ICBC to show his driving records before they can rent him the car? I have NEVER come across this once in all the car rentals I’ve had over the years. So after he proves to them that he’s a good driver, then they take a $1,000 deposit? We only had the vehicle for 5 days? Usually at other rental agencies the deposit has been no more than around $300-$500 max. So I think there was some issues there as well. We finally got the car. In all fairness the car itself was great. We got a Toyota Corolla. Very clean and it was great on the trip. Very comfortable and great on gas. The one thing I’ll say is this, they tried to make things better, but when you have a child and you’re ready to go and all you want is to get the car and get going, to have a delay for over an hour is not good. Things aren’t being done on the scale of a larger car rental agency and it’s very obvious. They need to be more organized and the fact that they don’t mention the ICBC check on their website makes me think they don’t want the customer to know about it, since it would result in going elsewhere On a scale of 1-10, the car itself was a 10 the experience was a 2 . I will take my business elsewhere next time.

The location is very convenient and I appreciated being able to leave the car in their parking lot to pick up after our dinner and show; it saved me the hassle of having to find a parking spot and paying for it. We were also given an upgrade from compact to an SUV. I’m indifferent about this upgrade as I purposely chose a compact size so it would be easier to park. However, I recognize that we were give a hybrid SUV with many features and the car was nice to drive. I’m sure drivers with better parking skills would appreciate this upgrade if they were given the option.

Took almost 1 hour to pick up our car at the counter. Toddler seat didn't come with instructions on how to put in the car. Drop off procedure was a tad problematic: a) too far from main terminal leave a lot of time to catch the shuttle bus to main terminal and b) Drop off box location not clearly stated inside the terminal- had to ask for help.

I had booked a minivan and was given a SUV which could not fit the luggage that we had brought from overseas. Secondly, National charged us twice for the rental and I have been following up with National to refund the additional payment that they have charged me (CAD 1,711). This has yet to be resolved.
