When I asked to deliver the var 6 hours later than I booked, it turns out I've been charges for a whole week instead of maximum one more day. The price nearly doubled. I will have to follow this up.

Loved the car but disappointed with drop off. Had to leave the car before 10pm at a location that closed at 5pm. Miscommunication on Hertz’s part, which is really an easy fix. Thankfully I was ready earlier to give the car back and had time for a druve way out of my way to return the rental.

My biggest complaint is that we reserved a mid-sized sedan (Toyota Corolla, Kia Forte). The car we were assigned was a Rav 4 SUV, which was not at all what we wanted. To add insult to injury, the car was stolen our third morning in Montreal. Customer service was not helpful, and we spent much of one day trying to figure out how we were supposed to replace the car so that our vacation could proceed. We finally returned to the airport (a $60+ cab ride), where the manager was able to get us set up with another vehicle - another SUV, unfortunately. The remainder of our visit was relatively uneventful, and Alamo was accommodating after the fact, but their customer service needs to be revised.

Promised me a standard car(Jetta) before taking my cc and drivers license. Tried to up-sell me to an import luxury, I refused. He dropped me down to a compact car and said “He can do anything, he can even give me economy” I refused to proceed with the rental and went elsewhere.

Although pick up was slow because they seemed extremely understaffed. There were a lot of customers with booked cars but only two employees . Thankfully the two that were available tried very hard to make everybody happy. The car was great and return was smooth.

Pickup and drop off were swift. No major problems with the car, however there was a bad smell in the vehicle. We had to buy an air freshener to get rid of it. We told the management upon arrival and they did give us a discount on our reservation.

To our surprise, the office was closed when we arrived around midnight. We had to sleep on benches until the staff arrived at 7 AM. One of the tires was leaking air, so I drove 2 hours round trip from where I was staying to the airport to get a new car. I requested a free day, but they only gave me a $50 credit (I was paying $175/day for the car). The new car I got was not full, about 8 liters low. Chiselers.

We were able to upgrade to larger cars at the airport, the cars were clean and drove well, 2, a Dodge Charger and a Doge Caravan had enough space for 10 of us, with luggage. We appreciated getting a one way booking on line, for one day, from Montreal to Newark as our flights got cancelled twice. Price and efficiency of vehicles could be better, but we appreciated that they were available.

Great to see rental companies making the switch and offering EVs. Pick up was easy for Mtl airport, no surprised fees, final bill was what I expected. The records shown that the car was charged to 82%, it was only 57%. A note was easily added to the carbon copy but I still had to stop after 10 minutes in my trip to charge the car myself in order to make it to the following charging station in Qc city. I asked to get a top up as I was willing to wait on site but since there was no charging station in the facility, I was offered to return to the front counter to pick up a different tesla. the waiting time to make it through the lineup and the risk to end up with another halfway charged vehicle wasn’t worth the 30 minutes stop to charge it myself. I understand that it was particularly cold that day and this tend to be tough on batteries, but having the ability to keep your standby EV plugged in would definitely enhance customer satisfaction.

No one at counter at 10:55pm. Couldn’t get car. We were not only party. Next morning we were told that they canceled reservation and had no cars available. Talked with hertz in person downtown Montreal. Same story, but added they were short staffed so they couldn’t help us. Thankfully found a car at another company for one way rental.

We had a reservation for 0800. They had us waiting for more than 2 hours before we can get a car. Not even the one we had booked in the first place. There was about 20-30 others person waiting.. in the same situation. Really bad management problem.

Off-site location made pickup tedious. Leave extra time! Advertised as Europcar, but is Routes for all intents and purposes. Car pickup paperwork is onerous. Make sure you have lots of ID's and copy of insurance. Counter rep took 91 pictures of car to show condition - somewhat intimidating. Spent 20 minutes checking car upon return, including more pictures. Agreement promised gas was full, whereas it was 7/8. Made return a bit challenging. I would not use Europcar (or Routes) again due to savings vs inconvenience. Rent with company that has pickup and dropoff at terminal!

Economy Car Rental did not have a car available for me because they messed up on their reservation system. They did not even call me to let me know before I showed up. I ended up having to scramble to find another rental at double the price of what I had booked two months prior. As for the customer service guy, he couldn’t care less about the error and told me all you have to do is look at the negative reviews and add one if you want. Never again.
