It wasn't Europcar but Priveless rental. Your website said the rental agency was in the terminal, but it was 20 minutes away in heavy traffic. The car was old, worn and a bit dirty. You should never say the car rental is in the terminal when it's so far away. Also there were huge hidden charges that weren't disclosed on the rental listing. The people at the rental agency, however, were nice, but that wasn't enough to make up for the gross inconvenience and the 5-year old car that wasn't the greatest.

I did not end up using europcar in Costa Rica as they try an charge you an outrageous amount for insurance (no refundable $500) even though I already purchased insurance abd the car prior for $120 total. Working on getting my refund back , better off renting from the locale

Awful experience. Reserved rate wasn’t honored at all. Tried to charge me 5x as much at the counter with a multiple thousand dollar “deposit”. Had to walk away. Would never try to rent from them in Costa Rica again.

I canceled my rental car. The people, QEEQ.com, returned my money immediately. I bought the zero deductible insurance from the same web page and the money wasn't returned for the rental. I phoned Alliance and they said that they were putting in a request for the return of my money but I haven't received it as yet.

The staff were able to answer all of my questions quickly, whether over the phone or through their online messaging system. Make sure to ask about SLI, aka car insurance, as there are different options and it can be somewhat expensive. Overall, I had a great experience and will be returning to Dollar car rental the next time I'm in Costa Rica!

Customer service was great. They didn't try to scam me with hidden fees or falsehoods about coverage. Another in my group rented through enterprise and they tried to make him pay all sorts of extras that aren't required (we rented in San Jose). I also had some car issues on the way back and they were helpful and understanding.

Felt sort of corralled into the upgrade I got. Booked a 7p 4x4 online and was told in person it was only 2WD. Was then told the Land Cruiser I got was the only one left on the lot. 3 hours later my brother in law got a Land Cruiser and was told it was the last one on the lot.

Budget in Costa Rica, our flight was delayed so we called the 1800 number where an automated message told us that 'if your flight is delayed, not to worry they have the flight info and will hold on to your car, even if they don't have the flight number we hold your vehicle for 24hrs' So that was a relief until we got to the Budget booth in the airport where they told us they didn't have our car and that we should have let them know. I told them we called and heard the message and they responded with 'oh you didn't call the Costa Rica line' They ended up having a car we could use but it was a larger more expensive SUV and needed 'a better insurance package' so we had to pay more than we 'budgeted' for. Use another car rental place in Costa Rica there's lots to choose from.

The manager at Budget Rental Car (San José, Costa Rica) explained that what I was purchasing was an added option for their highest, “full protection”. I bumped the front driver side plastic bumper. No accident. No other persons involved. I put chased full protection. I bumped the front driver side plastic bumper. No accident. No police needed. No other persons involved. And now I have to pay $300 US Dollars for a person not writing a report about it until this moment (2 days after.) Nothing changed, just when the report was written down. As one who works in real estate, I know an added fee when I see one. This is an added penalty fee without justification. I am requesting a refund of the added administrative charge. I purchased the full protective warranty, so I knew I was covered. Except that I wasn’t/am not. Choose a different company.
