Could have been cleaner and needed to go through a car wash

Hour wait in line to sign papers/get car assigned. I’m not sure if they were having computer issues or what . There was a super long line with five or six people behind the counter, but only two to three helping people. Then another 20 min wait to get the car delivered. First car they brought had maintenance and tire light on. They asked if I wanted a different one??? The other guy said that car needs to be taken out of service. He then gives me a Chevy Malibu that had two dings in the hood and some marks on the driver side door and window frame. They told me to take pictures and hold on to them for 30 days and made note on the paperwork. Overall a very frustrating experience. Not an efficient system. Not sure I’ll rent from them again. In the past, with other companies, I sign paperwork and am told which car to get in parking lot.

Great rates, great vehicle, excellent service.

It was ready for me to pick up and easy to drop off. Good value rental.

They did a great job helped me out and easily let me return to Savannah rather than Jacksonville and at a savings when my plans changed.

The first vehicle we received smelled like smoke. We returned the vehicle with no issue. The staff was great and offered us a new vehicle. The manager Trey was great and even remembered us when we came back to return the rental when we were done. He asked how was the second vehicle and we let him know it was great and thanked him for everything!

well when i got there was only 2 reps and slow went to the next rental i got a car in 5 min

Customer service was terrible. Typically use Avis, but after the woman told me maybe I should “just call Uber”, and offered no helpful insight other than sending me on a goose chase to every competitor. Finally the NEW EMPLOYEE explained the situation and fixed everything. He was great, but the woman with no personality and terrible customer service/sarcasm should have stayed home. Last year, cars were being thrown at me to travel and run covid units. This year I was spoken down to and ridiculed…. Despite having a one way flight coming home from the hurricane I drove away from last month. People are just rude and she was the worst part of my experience from start to finish, Hurricane and cancelled flights included.

The car was not at it cleaners best

Reserved a full-size for JAX airport. My flight arrived early and rep at counter said she had no full-size available, nor any other car to give me, until if/when she received keys at 11 a.m. My nephew was with me and we had to drive to Palm Coast to make family funeral arrangements, so after a few minutes, we decided to wait on line again and ask if anything had become available. We spoke with a different rep who said he had a Ford Escape that was ready but that I would have to pay for the upgrade. We asked if a manager could override that and he said no. Because of the immediate nature of our family crisis, I had to take the Escape. As soon as my nephew and I got in the SUV, we were overcome with the odor of disgusting, unhealthy cigarette smoke. We opened the windows and then inspected the rest of the vehicle: clearly, it had never been cleaned. There were dirty shoe-prints all over the back seats, the trunk was filthy, and there were papers and other detritus in the driver's side door pockets. Because of our deadline, we bought an air-freshener and drove to P.C. with the windows open. That night, I called Cust SVC to lodge a complaint. My case number: 0230225398. P.S. Also had to buy windshield-wiper fluid because the dashboard alert was flashing that there was none. Again, that vehicle had never been checked or cleaned.

The car had a bad noise at 65 mph plus Told the person and that was it

terrible pick up. 3 people in front of me in line and it took over 30 minutes to pick up a car. 4 people behind the counter, not many working very hard. they gave me a chevy ev -- terrible instructions on how and where to charge it. spent 3 hours messing around charging for driving all of 97 miles. terrible experience, will not use hertz again.

Picking up the car was a nightmare. The line was long, the attendants were inattentive and unapologetic. When the attendants could not help me with a very simple matter, I had to call the company who tried to upsell me at least five times. Then I had to finish the transaction at the desk. The attendant mumbled while trying to upsell me at least five more times. I finally had to call my husband over so we could both listen and be on guard for being taken advantage of. This is my second back experience with Hertz. I believe it's not just bad luck, it's bad company practices. I will be switching to a different car rental service.

I received an electric car which I did NOT ask for, they said the car was charged to 85% when it was barely charged to 15% which almost left us stranded trying to get to our hotel. I was charged twice. Once when I booked it and again when I picked it up and I told her that and she brushed it off.

Telling me before I got to the desk at 7am that I could not leave Florida and would be charged per mile.

Car was very smelly with lots of air freshener. Pickup spot was very small and some people had to wait outside. Staff was giving conflicting directions to those waiting

Went I get there it’s was closed. I never get the car I have to go back to the airport and look for other rental cars.
