I can not believe it took close to an hour to finally have the keys in hand. I have rented and traveled many times, this was a first. I felt the attendant, although friendly and patient, wanted my 1st born before sealing the deal. I provided my driver's license and insurance as usual but, they required a copy of my declaration sheet as proof of full coverage. I'm sure he was only do his job; however, maybe during booking this should all be addressed so there are no surprises at arrival for pickup. Thx you

I booked this car rental for a trip I had planned. I was unable to go due to illness and was forced to cancel my flights, hotels and tried to cancel this car rental. Whether its KAYAK or SIXTH, one of them is a scam. I was unable to cancel my reservation and tried to for 4-5 days prior to the day of pick up and was met with unresponsive emails to my requests everyday. I am still out over $1,100 for a car that was never rented and tried to cancel well within my days to cancel. I am extremely disappointed in both of these sites. If Sixth is the issue, then KAYAK should not book them on their platform. Very upset.

The shuttle to and from the airport was fine, but the drop off location was difficult to find especially in the early morning. They need to do a better job of explaining that at check-in. The morning crew was surly, (somewhat understandable) but they could have done a better job at saying "good bye and come back soon!"

I’m pretty sure this place is a bait and switch scam. The customer service rep shuttled us from the airport but when we arrived he immediately told us our reservation had been cancelled because our flight had been significantly delayed and they were completely out of cars. PR is an island and inventory is finite, so this is not an unheard of situation. However, that was the only flight arriving in Aguadilla that afternoon and we were the first and only customers on the shuttle. And if they were out of cars, the rep would have been aware before picking us up. He was very quick to recommend going to the local private rental company across the parking lot, since we had already been shuttled from the airport and there is no ride share and limited taxi service in town. Our Airbnb was half a mile away so my husband, 5 year old, and I ended up walking on the shoulder of a major roadway with all our luggage in the rain and made a car reservation at Hertz for the next day. You’re better off at literally any other major rental company in town—Hertz, Thrifty, Avis, National, Alamo, Enterprise lots are all walking distance from the arrivals terminal and have plenty of inventory.

The actual process of picking up/dropping off the car was quick and easy. The shuttle picking us up from the airport took close to 30min after calling almost 10 times. That was a big turn off. The additional fees also were unexpected and the car ended up costing over $100 than what I had reserved it for.

I video taped the exterior of the car before I even turned it on in Ponce, to document any exterior damage. I was doing the same in San Juan, when the Budget employee jumped in and took off — before I could finish. The inside wasn’t clean. There were stains and someone had left melted caramel in the glove box. (I cleaned it, so they wouldn’t blame me for it.) The car itself performed well and was fuel efficient.

Nice vehicle. No problems with it. Drop off was easy. Pick up - we waited for over an hour for the car to be brought up (along with others) not being told we could go to the vehicle and check out despite asking about it. I was told I would get an email after turning it in which I did not seem to get. Bill was more than expected or initially presented and I don't yet know why.

When i did the reservation, i agreed to pay $135 at the counter and when i got there i was charged $153. They said it was probably some extra taxes that was not included in the reservation but when i checked my bill, i noticed that they charged me for roadside assistance which i never asked for but the rep Nancy said it was mandatory. That was the difference between the $135 and the $155. The only thing i got extra at the counter was the charge for tolls. This should not happen. I should be paying for the price I agreed on initially.

The car was in great condition, the front desk very helpful and clear with instructions and the pick-up and drop-off easy and very convenient as it is right at the airport (no waiting for shuttles). We would definitely rent from Thrifty is the future.

The car had roaches and had a lot of stains in the seats. After dropping it back at the airport and got our receipt online we noticed charges like the LDW that we got through the app and the lady at the airport took notice when we picked the car. In total they charged $199.92 for the LDW. They also charged for Roadside assistance and Personal Protection which we never asked or wasn’t offered. I will never use Thrifty again. I called their number in San Juan airport (787)253-2525 to file a claim and it took them 25 minutes to answer the call. Horrible service.

I brought a valid car collision and anti theft insurance valid in Dominican Republic. The employee from Thrifty told me that I had to buy extra insurance from then and he didn’t give me the car. That employee was very rude and unhelpful. At the airport, the other rental car employees told us that that was a very common practice from thrifty and their personnel, because that’s how they make their commissions. PLEASE!!! Do not rent from this people!!!

It was all good until we opened the rental car door and it was super dirty and then A Cockroach was in the car and where there’s one theres more … so we asked the attendant of Avis what can he do for us and he didn’t have any options for us so we had no choice but to use the rental . I also have a picture of the cockroach because I was in disbelief I’ve never seen such .

bought damage waiver at around $45/ day, then walked 10 mins to the car lot and shown the car for us that had major front and other damage to the car, then told by unrecognizable attendant that if I wanted a non-dented car I had to walk all the way back to the rental counter, the attendant was indignant about wanting to change out the car and could not believe it was that bad, then I showed her a picture and she then could say nothing and gave me a new car, the worst run operation I have ever exerienced

Was forced to purchase their insurance because I didn't have my auto insurance card with me. I did provide them the name of the carrier. Who carries their insurance card around with them? Whole thing Made no sense, and Felt like a money-grab. Car was late model but not super clean. Check out attendant was pleasant.

I had reserved a 3-row SUV, but only a mini-van was available upon arrival. The queuing situation was a little confusing, so I was evidently waiting for an agent in the wrong place. When he realized this (i.e., when I finally came up to him), he said he couldn't help me, since I wasn't in the right line, and he made me go to the end of the line. The people in front of me had a mismatch between their reservation (under the wife's name) and the driver's license (the husband). The difficult agent mentioned above did not help them, for instance by modifying their reservation. He just refused to figure out a way for them to get the car that they had reserved and paid for. I found this a pretty amazingly ungenerous way to act.
