The vehicle was great. The pickup experience was awful. Long-line and slow service. Drop off was equally terrible. Poor signage to find the drop off area and only 1 person to check you out .

I did not receive the car I ordered and paid for. I reserved a car that could fit 5 people and 4 suitcases. The example car was a Citroen C4– a car with a hatchback. This was essential to us because we had 4 people with 4 bags. The car we received was comically small and we could only fit 2 bags in the trunk (barely) and had to put a seat down and squeeze in like a clown car with bags on top of each person. When I returned to the counter to point out the discrepancy I was gaslit and told it was the car I ordered and only offered the alternative to pay for an suv.

1. They gave me half tank and I even gave full tank on return, still they charged me for fuel. 2. Pick and drop point at Malpensa Airport is not mentioned. 3. Support call was not supportive at all. Hertz and Dollar service is pathetic, I will never go for it again.

When I dropped off car, the guy could have been more helpful. I went to checkout and he just stood there without acknowledging me. I was of course eager to get to my flight. It is painful for me to stand and he had me stand there until I said something.

Hertz pick up was inexistent. There was no assistant phone line. Neither for pick up nor drop off. The 700€ deposit requirement was never mentioned prior to pick up day. Horrible experience overall

From pick up to drop off our experience with Dollar was wonderful! The staff - especially Debbie - were friendly, warm, and efficient. I would recommend Dollar at Linate Airport with 100% enthusiasm!

The car was rented in Italy from Hertz at a competitive rate. The car size and model was as we expected. As a matter of fact, it was an upgrade to us, since it was a Hybrid model and we did not ask for it. This feature of course saved us gas. The car was new (only 987 km). It came with insurance coverage but no 3rd party damage and injury (the so-called collision coverage). We had purchased collision coverage through Kayak from home at very competitive rates. So we were fully covered. Returning the car was quick and easy. No issues to report.

The staff at the desk in Milan didn’t speak a word English and even when we tried to just give our name they referred us to call the call centre to check in and they relayed to the staff. It took forever and was bizarre we’ve never had this. Then the car booked wasn’t available and a suitable replacement wasn’t available. So we ended up having to cancel and go to another desk and pay more as a ‘walk-in’ to a different rental company.

Beware… AVIS will NOT guarantee your rental. I had a van reservation and planned all my trip with this van. To my surprise they DID NOT honor the reservation and ruined my travel plans… Their solution? NOTHING… they simply said, “We can’t do anything about it, go to the airport office and see what you can get.” Just like that… I lost money on my hotel reservations and travel plans. I would NOT trust them ever again.
