We were to pickup a midsize at a satellite Hertz, not the airport. When we got there they had one car left, a Polestar EV, a Volvo product made in China, with 26% charge, and no way to charge it there. We basically had to take it, or we had to come back hours later with no guarantee we'd get a car. The instructions we were given about the EV were minimal. They did not have internet there for us to download the necessary APP to charge the car. We stopped at a Starbucks to get the APP. We then had to find a charging station. We had no experience with this, and went to one, only to find out it's a regular EV charger, and would take about 7 hours to charge the car. We couldn't wait that long. We then found a fast station, which took over 2 hours to charge. Bad way to start the vacation. We got to our destination about 3+ hours later than we should have. The next day we decided we would trade the car in for a gas car, as we didn't want to do the charging routine again. We went to the nearest airport and exchanged, easily, thankfully. That was an hour drive each way. Their lack of cars initially cost us about 6 hours that should not have happened.

Cost doubled when we were told that if we didn’t get the insurance, we would have to pay for the time that it took to fix the vehicle for repairs.. first time I ever agreed to insurance instead of using our own policy.

The car was not big enough. It was very dirty and had cigarette ashes in it. They told me I had to return it with 3/4 of a tank of gas. It only had a 1/4 tank when I picked it up! Also, the windshield washer fluid light was on because it was almost empty. Oh, not to mention that KAYAK told us the car was at the airport. It was NOT! It cost me $90.00 in Uber and taxi fees, to get to the car and get back to the airport. Never again through a third party! F-

They told us to drop off the car ahead of their closing time so they could have time to clean it although they do have a drop key box. Technically, that time was ahead of what time we had to drop it off but we were ok doing that. Then, the day off, they called to make sure we were dropping off the car before it was due. We got the feeling we were being rushed so they could go home for the weekend. We’ve never had that happen before. Overall it is a convenient location and we rent a lot and will do it again.

It went well. My inky concern is when I dropped it off at Orlando airport I did not get a receipt. I entered into the drop off lot and was told I didn’t need to do anything else but leave the car there. Should I have gotten a receipt?

I was notified TWO HOURS before my Pickup time that they had NO CARS!!! I was scheduled to be in Tampa at noon…. Had to uber ALL THE WAY to Ft Myers airport and stand in line for an hour to get my car! I was late….. and not happy AT ALL! The least they could have done was check me in “preferred” at the airport so i didnt have to stand in that long line
