My family and I were on a trip to Yellowstone but a day before our arrival we heard the news that a historic flood occurred and the park was shut down. We were already 1,000 miles into the road-trip. The employees at the Budget location were kind enough to provide a list they made of other fun things to do in the Grand Teton area, West Yellowstone, and other surrounding parks to help me and my family out. They also gave us a discount because they had so many cancellations due to the park closure. This was next level kindness that proved to be so helpful on our trip that had to be altered last minute

The rental itself was supposed to be @$1500 for the week by the time they got through nickel and diming me with all the fees and surcharges I ended up paying $1800 (I returned it with a full gas tank). Granted some of it was taxes but there were a lot of little ridiculous upcharges. Instead of knowing everything up front I felt taken advantage if. Vehicle was not even clean (dirty windows, in and out, needed a wash) when I picked it up. Tough time to rent due to supply and demand right now but could be handled better.

Easy pick up and drop off. We were upgraded from a full size car to a Chevy Traverse. This worked out great for us since we were driving a lot through Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons. Car pickup was right at the airport which made it very convenient. So nice to not have to get on a shuttle. Got the rental at a great price because I had booked it last February.

We had issues in Jackson. There was no registration in the car and we got NO rental paperwork. I went back inside and was told we didn't need any paperwork. When we dropped off the car yesterday, we were told we were an hour late and it would cost us an additional $300-! We had no idea that we had a specific time to drop off the car (in Billings MT); we spent an hour in Billings just driving around and could have dropped the car off had we known we had a specific time to drop it off! I was told a manager from Avis would call me tomorrow to talk to me about this. The car was wonderful. The guys in Billings were empathetic about the situation.

This was a nightmare experience. I received confirmation of a car at Teton Aviation for $1500. I flew into Jackson Hole airport and booked a car to take me to Teton Aviation in Idaho. Before I left the airport I called Hertz at Teton to confirm (it was a long drive) and they told me it was a private airport and under no circumstance was there a car there for me and it was a mistake (even though I had a Hertz confirmation number). I called Hertz help line and they were unable to help and said there were absolutely no cars in Jackson Hole or Teton Aviation. I was stranded there with no car for a family reunion. I will never use Hertz again and the person at Teton Aviation was nasty.
