I will never rent from Fox again. Ridiculous amount of upsell, rudeness, and lies from the representative when I picked up the car. Total pain in the butt. It kind of ruined the first few hours of my trip.

We wanted a small economy unit. After a bit of urging that we really wanted a larger car, the sales person just gave up and gave us an older Chevy Equinox. She wanted us to add insurance coverage beyond our own coverage because the roads were so bad in the FT Meyers area that we were sure to ruin a tire. We were told that the transponder we brought might not work and we should buy theirs. We rented this car for 15 days and had no problem with the car or our equipment. Wen we finally got home to New England, the updated bill had several charges (no damage to the car or its precious tires) which brought the bill up to about a hundred more than we initially contracted for. Fox's facility is a few miles shuttled to and from the airport. In the future, it makes more sense that I just use one of the regular airport rental companies for a little more contracted money, but probably about the same price.

The customer service rep who checked us in and gave us our rental was amazing. She gave us lots of information on the area, offered upgrades and suggestions for toll roads, and was very friendly. Upon reaching our hotel the night we picked up our car we realized we had left a piece of luggage on the Fox Rental shuttle bus. We tried calling the office, you can’t get through it directs you to a corporate office where you have to leave a voicemail and they will return your call. By the time we returned the next morning to pick up our left behind piece of luggage it was gone. No one had seen it or knew where it was. The customer service rep at Fox rental that morning was extremely unprofessional, rude, and did not want to help us. Basically said it was our fault for leaving it on the bus and if we wanted to get anywhere we’d have to file a police report for stolen property. We called the corporate office again, emailed them all the details, filed the police report and sent that in the email, and we have not received any follow up. I would not recommend such a shady rental company to anyone.
