Toyota car rentals in Newmarket

Hello, I made my reservation online. When I got the the pickup counter I was told the prices in my online reservation were wrong and that it would be substantially more. I understand the need for a deposit, but the gentleman at the counter said the deposit would be $5,000 and the rental would be $367.25. I was quoted $2500-$3500 for the deposit by your websites customer service when I reached out to let them know of the experience. Online my rental was quoted at $208.61. Only the $3500 deposit option the counter man said matched what your website provided. Nothing else matched. There were cheaper deposit options, but the rental would be more than triple my original price. I was told $3500 deposit and $512.81 for the rental. $1000 deposit and $618.56 rental. $500 deposit and $671.46 rental. I ended up going with a different provider. This was my first and only time using Kayak. I know one persons business won’t affect you, but if they continue to tarnish your reputation and reliability it will eventually hurt you. I wish you would reach out to them and fix this for the next guest who tries to use you.

I specifically told the agent no CDW insurance. He added it so my $219 price you gave me was $545. Didn’t notice until the next day. You can’t call them and you can’t fix it. $10.55 per gallon if you don’t have time to put gas in the car. I feel totally taken. I looked at reviews and I am one of many - the overcharges seem pretty much how they do business. I will never rent from Thrifty again, ever.

Staff were generally nice. The car was very dirty at pickup and I never received a receipt at drop off.

Dollar failed to honor my reservation. I was yelled at by the two men at the Dollar desk for showing them my reservation. They told me they didn't have a car reserved for me and ordered me to leave. I have been traveling for business for the past 14 years and I have never been treated so poorly and with such contempt as I was by the two men working for Dollar. I will never use Kayak or Dollar again.

Car wasn’t super clean- which is fine we have definitely rented worse. Clerk wasn’t happy that we booked 3rd party and discussed how it impact their job to make it harder by having to enter information provided by renter- then Tried to add on 1200 worth of insurance- wasn’t happy when I declined and argued about it. Girl that was there when we returned was very monotone and irritated with myself and previous customer

When we arrived there were two clerks who moved slower than molasses on a January morning. The gentleman at the Budget counter was argumentative and rude. The lady was a bit more with it but disinterested in helping very much. We were in St. Louis because my partner was dying, my son and I needed to get there as soon as possible. We reached out to the online provider, and they were very helpful. I am so glad they were able to assist us in changing the reservation and obtaining the rental vehicle. I will not use Dollar services again.

Was told at the front desk I wasn't allowed to pick up my rental even though I paid for it.

I rented twice. The first time the line was long, but it moved along at a fair pace. There was only one guy working at the counter. I didn't know I was supposed to give the guy outside my contract. So, I waited over an hour before someone told me. Once I gave it to him, the car was available in 5 minutes. Not sure if it was my mistake or they didn't tell me. The next time I rented there was not a line and I checked in, did the paperwork, handed in my contract and was out the gate within 10 minutes. The price was great and the staff was great.

Read the fine print before booking online. Local residents only get limited kilometers even though it stats unlimited while booking. If your insurance does not cover rental car ,expect to pay the insurance while picking up the car. The staff was helpful and forthcoming thats the only positive i could take from my experience.

We were skeptical because of the reviews but we were very satisfied with the end result. We got a very good car for a good price. Negatives: The parking lot was a zoo when returning and we used our own insurance so they insisted on a $1000 down which I didn't feel good about.

My flight got cancelled. Their offices closes at 5pm. I got in on a new flight at 8pm. And was not able to pick up my car bc office was closed. I am looking to get refunded but there doesn’t seem to be much hope. They should disclose their office closes at 5pm. Before you book.

I used City Car and Truck Rental on my last trip to Toronto. A person always worries about bad experiences when using a cost effective anything, but right from my plane landing until them dropping me off at my terminal the experience was very good. The staff have clearly been chosen for the people skills and that is always good. They are not at the terminal, but a driver picks you up promptly at Viscount station and within five minutes you are at depot. The check-in was rapid and friendly. Not sure if the savings are always good, but on a six day rental I saved over five hundred dollars. Solid experience attached to great savings wins the day for me. Highly recommended.

I found out the day before my rental started that the office closes at 5:30pm. My flight didn't land until after 7pm so I would've been stuck there. Rediculously poor. had to cancel and book with another company at twice the price. Unreliable. The website lets you choose pick up times after the office closes. Never again will I book with this company.

Was not advertised that closed on statutory holidays so incurred additional taxi cost to airport. Had only 200km/day. All disappointing and wouldn't book again.

They wouldn’t let us adjust the pick up time so we ended up loosing the deal went originally booked because they didn’t hold it to our later pick up and had to pay extra for a different car. And they also offer toll road passes at a premium price. The guy at the counter was nice but kept kinda meh service overall.

The worst experience I’ve ever had renting a car. 2 hours there. Place was completely overwhelmed and understaffed.

Was unable to do insurance online. Just upon arrival they let me know that their insurance exposes me to a damage of up to $3000 of self participation. The car was not ready even i arrived, waited there half an hour
