Be aware you will be charged extra and about double the cost of your rental for insurance and it is mandatory. We were not made aware of this until we arrived in Mexico. They should be upfront about these costs and include it in the charge. This is misleading and a deceptive marketing practice in my opinion. Otherwise, the staff were nice and the car worked well.

Worst rental ever, costumer be aware bad business, we ended renting with Europcar 1000 times better that mexcar they only make us waste 3 hours.

The car had a lot of mud on it that might have been covering scratches when we picked it up. We had to get a shuttle from the airport to the rental place, and the office is on a 2nd story, no elevator. They charge the lowest price for the rental online to get you to pick them, but make up for it by overcharging for the mandatory liability insurance required in Mexico. Most places with the insurance and the rental price will run you $30-40 per day for an economy car, but this place was a little over $50 per day. The car had the oil change soon message pop up on the dashboard and needed air in one of the tires 2 hours after picking it up.

I did not get the car. Kayak charged me for the car and I showed up to pick k it up and was told I needed insurance. The cost of the insurance was 5x what I paid for the rental. I left the car rental place and got a cab. I will never book a trip or car rental with kayak or priceline ever again. I knew I would need insurance but cmon. 5x the cost of the rental?

Best car rental agency I’ve used in Mexico! Great price and easy to work with. Don’t purchase insurance while booking online, wait to purchase insurance with dealership - it is required to purchase their insurance - don’t waste $ on two insurance policies.

We had to wait for the car a bit at pick up, and it took a while to go through the upsell for the insurance. The drop of time was not moved to when we actually left the lot, so we lost an hour. Since this was a one way rental, I expected the one way fee, but still felt it was very high. At drop off, the staff in Hermossillo was not able to credit the damage deposit back, we had to call the office in Puerto Vallarta and give them the card information over the phone. I would have expected would have expected that they would have been able to do this via computer. All that said, the car drove well, had excellent gas milage, and was comfortable for 2.

Many hidden fees!! They force you to purchase insurance even though most credit cards cover this. It is at minimum $20/day. Also lots of taxes. It ended up being about $200 more than advertised on Kayak. Complete BS.

Kayak hooked me up with a midsize car for me , my wife and my parents who are larger people so we need a midsize vehicle for our trip and there's luggage too! First off we couldn't find the enterprise on FRANCISCO MEDINA ASCENCIO 141, Puerto Vallarta, JA, MX which doesn't exist. So we went to the airport enterprise- to grab our Nissan Xtrail, they proceeded to tell us that they don't have a car for us even though we have one reserved prior to coming. Arguing with the enterprise rental person no apology or anything, which is ridiculous. So we cancelled our rental reservation due to no car and no help from enterprise at all. We tried to get a car at Alamo at the airport who also didn't have any cars for us. They took us to the big Alamo outside of the airport. They told us they had a midsized car and they gave us a Nissan Micra clown car. This is the smallest car and we all had to sit with luggage on our laps and at our feet it was so small. Whatever we get the car do our trip to Mazatlan and go to return the car. They won't give us our deposit back so we sat and waited. They were super unhelpful and didn't know a goddam thing about anything at all. This was the WORDST RENTAL CAR EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!! I am not at all impressed with PRICELINE, KAYAK, ENTERPRISE OR ALAMO!! You have all gotten this review because none of you are helpful or even care about your customers. I will never ever use PRICELINE, KAYAK , ALAMO OR ENTERPRISE EVER AGAIN! I would like this issue to be rectified.

The check-in & drop-off process is a total cluster with zero organization or signage to let anyone, no matter what language, knows what to do. Taking 30+ minutes to pick up a car when I'm an Avis member is insulting. Last time in Puerto Vallarta I rented with Hertz & it was a quick & easy in & out process. Guess who I'll be using in the future in Puerto Vallarta? Definitely not Avis...

Overall it was pretty easy. The guys that helped with the inspection and return were professional and friendly. The car was in ok condition, definitely a bit rough around the edges, but it functioned well; the cars do have a hard life down there with the rough roads. Overall an easy experience with no heavy upsell, which is always nice to avoid.

Terrible experience. They did not have the car we had booked for our reservation. I had originally booked a standard SUV for 300 American dollars. They only had a Jeep and a compact car, we definitely would had not fit our 4 ppl and all our luggage in the compact car. Asked for the price of the Jeep and they were trying to charge us 1700 American dollars. I know it’s never the price they actually quote you for but come on now, that’s more that 5 times what we were quoted for the SUV. What a joke! Did not give them our business and definitely never will when we go back.

Complete rip off, do not use this rental company. They upcharged an 80% mandatory basic insurance to our original resevation and if we wanted any quality insurance for the vehicle the median mark up was 240% price incresase for the insurance alone. The door handles were held together with tape, the tire shoulders were bald and the windshield wipers fell apart after using them in the rainstorm we experieced. We were honestly lucky to have reached our destination. Budget's name took a serious hit from my consideration if their branches conduct business in this shady manner.

Beware Friends! This is a total cash grab! I used Kayak to rent a car in Mexico. What they failed to include in the advertised price was the cost of insurance. The company I my rental was through would only allow you to take the car if you used their insurance or paid the total value of the car up front! Yes that’s right they wanted $14 000.00US. This was false advertisement on Kayak’s part. The price should have included the cost of the non-negotiable insurance price. The insurance was so expensive, we didn’t take the rental. We actually thought it might be a scam. They wouldn’t accept any insurance coverage you have on a credit card or through your own insurance company. The couple in front of us was sold insurance through the booking site AND the car company still would not accept it. Shame on you kayak for not including this information up front. I only found it after in the small print. You can start to fix this by including the total cost of the car + insurance and refunding me my money back.
