Waited for the shuttle at viscount station for 40minutes. Walking would be 20mins. Was forced to buy additional insurance for 12$ a day and paid more than the original cost of renting the car.

They didn’t accept the insurance i booked through kayak so I lost $40.

Read the fine print before booking online. Local residents only get limited kilometers even though it stats unlimited while booking. If your insurance does not cover rental car ,expect to pay the insurance while picking up the car. The staff was helpful and forthcoming thats the only positive i could take from my experience.

We were skeptical because of the reviews but we were very satisfied with the end result. We got a very good car for a good price. Negatives: The parking lot was a zoo when returning and we used our own insurance so they insisted on a $1000 down which I didn't feel good about.

My flight got cancelled. Their offices closes at 5pm. I got in on a new flight at 8pm. And was not able to pick up my car bc office was closed. I am looking to get refunded but there doesn’t seem to be much hope. They should disclose their office closes at 5pm. Before you book.

It was not the staffs fault. They didn’t have enough staff and waiting for hours was difficult. I wish we had complete information of what is needed inadvance before arriving to pick up the car.

DO NOT USE AVIS FOR INTERNATIONALE TRAVEL! IN PORTUGAL I WAS REFUSED A RECEIPT. UPON ARRIVAL HOMW I BEGAN CONTACTING AVIS WHO "HAD NO RECORD OF ME HAVING RENTED A CAR"- SO I SUPPLIED ALL RELEVANT INFORMATION. A WEEK LATER I GET NOTHING BUT AUTOMATED RESPONSES. BY THE WAY, THE AVIS RENTAL CAR AGENCY IN PORTUGAL ADDED AT $2500 DEPOSIT WHICH HAS STILL NOT BEEN RETURNED AND THEY STILL OVERCHARGED MY CREDIT CARD BY $250!!!! DO NOT USE AVIS!!!
