I never even received my car, it was a complete disaster and I will never use kayak or Payless again.
Extremely rude staff. Attempted to rent me a wrecked vehicle and when I denied it said it would be a few hours until another of the same class was available. Check in process no one was there. An AVIS employee said to just leave the keys in the car. No inspection, etc. I travel for a living and this is about my 3rd poor experience with Payless. I will pay more money for better service, shorter lines, and kinder staff. Will not be using this company again
The assistants at the counter left early, so we were without a car upon arrival. We had to take a taxi to the house, then arrange a 2nd ride the next day to go back to a Payless location. The assistant at that location refused to give any sort of refund or credit for our missed day or our taxi fare. So we paid for the first day, despite being screwed out of the car for that day, and $50 for a taxi ride. Not professional at all, would NEVER recommend or use this company again.
Reserved in September and arrived on time February 21st and they didn't have a car available. She said I was 1 of 5 they couldn't provide a car to. I did read reviews and expected this to happen. What I didn't expect is that she found another rental company to give me a car. It was double the price but still cheaper than any other agency by half. The vehicle was a tin can. Literally the worst thing you could imagine. But I was happy to have a car.
They didn't have a car available so I never actually got a rental with them. I expect a refund.
