We made a reservation for 6pm. We arrived a bit late at 6:20pm and everyone was gone. Wasn't easy to find because there's no outside sign and it's inside another company's garage. Tried calling the number and got no response (thus the delay trying to find the location) To find where the staff was, a worker from another company in the building gave the sixt team a call on their personal numbers and apparently everyone already went home. Was very surprising considering it's next to the airport to have it close so early. We had plans in the south that night so we had to find another booking at another company last minute. Never received a call, email, etc asking where we were.

Buyer beware!!! We arrived into Lisbon at 11pm. When we found the counter, the reservation was there, but instead of the automatic economy car we requested, they had us in for an e-car. Our itinerary was far too extensive to have to charge a car for 4 hrs every 200km. When I refused the car, they charged us double. There was nothing we could do but pay double for the car we previously booked. Since I got the extra insurance with the third party booking company, they told me I didn’t need it with them and later in the week, I found out we had no insurance on this vehicle. How disappointing this whole experience has been. After multiple attempts, I’m still trying to get this resolved. But I’ve yet to hear back from the person I finally managed to connect with while in Spain. I think it’s only fair to get the price originally quoted with the itinerary I still have! Obviously I would like my originally quoted price. Very unhappy customer!

Carjet, the broker cancelled our reservation. Therefore I had to book direct from Sixt at the desk and that was more expensive. That was a little bit disappointing....

I didn't get my car, I had to arrange another car on my own. The reason was that I didn't have two credit cards on my name. It was not mentioned in my booking that I would need two credit cards. Then the car I did book on my own with Budget didn't have any place of the car that was not damaged and it was very dirty and I had to fill Adblue after 200 km.

The branch at the Lissabon train station (Ouest) offers pick-up time at noon, however, they close from noon to 3pm. We had to wait for 2 hours to pick-up our car. Also, they offer the ViaVerde automatic toll system for Euro 7.50/day - which, according to some sources is illegal. The maximum amount for renting out ViaVerde is Euro 1.50/day to a maximum total amount of 19 Euros. This seems like fraud to me!

Very poor customer service! I end up paying 300 Euro extra coverage with Surprise rental although I have already paid for full coverage when I booked with Kayak! They didn't accept any debt card or cash with my approval of credit card authorization, they asked to block 1600Euro on my card as a condition,! I have never seen this anywhere in Europe! I rent a car every year everywhere for the last 30 years ans i have never experienced such a complicated process! Therewas no variation of cars except a tiny fiat 500 which was too small for my family and I, although I have booked a medium size online! Also, Kayak online booking experience wasvery poor cause they end up witha double booking with enterprise car rental a d I lost all my down payment

I rented a automatic and got a stick shift. The line was long and I waited for more than one hour to get a car. Then the car died in the middle of the trip. A nightmare! Avis has to rent a taxi to take me to the final destination.

They didn't let me use my online booking from Kayak. They said it needed at least 1h to access their booking in their system (they didn't even try). The employee at the counter asked me several times to cancel my booking with Kayak. As they gave me no choice, I ended up renting another car with them at a more expensive rate. It was truly a bad experience.

We were quoted a price, we triple checked that this was the pre-paid final price. We turned in the car a day early and were charged DOUBLE the quoted price - over 400 Euros more!

Price is very very high with insurance, almost 90€ a day. That is a rip off I would say. I agreed to that as my time is valued more but id zi as more time I would pick up car from airport for half that price

At pick up, I did not like the sales and guilt speech that the representative held. He tried to make me change my reservation for a more expensive car. Even AFTER I REFUSE THE CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) 2 or 3 times, he insisted menacing that the car value Euro 13,000 will be charge on my credit card if any damage occurs. He continued even when I told him that my credit Card will cover the CDW. Is it because I am a women that he think I am stupid? I was very displeased by his condescending tone.

I had a little disagreement with the check-in person on what size of car I paid for. It worked out overall but we did have a misunderstanding because I had paid for an economy size car and he said I was getting a mini car.

DO NOT RENT FROM EUROPECAR in Lisbon. When we returned the car at the end they found one small scratch on the end of the mirror and charged me $150 for it. What a rip-off. It was clear at drop off that they make extra money by doing a better inspection at return than they do at pick-up, and then gouging the renter for the repairs. The inspector even cleaned a few dead bugs off of the other mirror to make sure they weren't rock-chips. THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY A SET UP. Expect to have problems if you rent from them.
