BMW car rentals in Tampa

Kayak confirmation number didn’t match Alamo confirmation number, never got an email from Alamo confirming the reservation. Had to call their customer support to get that information, and had to re-enter my email address to get a confirmation via email. At Alamo, I chose the Skip the Counter option and expected to be able to pick up my rental by going straight to the car and to the exit booth. I was told by the kiosk personnel that we were good to do this, and once at the exit booth was told we needed a number that the counter or kiosk worker would provide. They proceeded to complete the pickup and rental agreement and ended up giving me a rental agreement for National Car Rentals for a person and car other than myself and the car I rented. Alamo contacted me via text and phone the following day asking if I picked up a car. I had to text them the VIN to complete the rental agreement. Overall, a big mess up on the part of Alamo.

Don't list cars that aren't available and send an email in advance to not travel there just to realize that there is no car available.

I was very pleased with the unexpected SIGNIFICANT upgrade -- I originally had booked a convertible, expecting just a Mustang convertible, so you can only imagine how happy I was when I arrived at the counter and was upgraded to a relatively brand new BMW Z4 at the same rate! Even better, with the original reservation, I would have had to return the car the next day by 7:30PM to the Orlando Airport and be charged two days' rate (my pick up was at 5PM Saturday, needing to return by 7:30PM Sunday and otherwise see a MASSIVE rate hike from ~$150 to ~$600). However, because of the change in vehicles, I could return it on Monday by 5PM for the original rate of ~$150 at the hotel I was staying in, saving me a LOT of hassle. I imagine Sixt may have lost some money with my reservation, but a great experience from start to finish.for me!

Car was dirty and there was roaches on it, really disappointing, not to mention they didn't have the car when I arrived

Apart from the rental office being a few blocks from the Tampa airport, we could not have asked for a better experience. Great vehicle, great service, great price.

Major issue is the Thrifty name is nowhere on the building. It was located inside a Hertz car rental. The address on the building was hard to read. Took over an hour to pick up my reservation. Drop off was just as bad. Seemed to be under staffed. Twice they tried to rent cars to people that needed repairs taking more time. During drop off they interrupted my transaction to send employee to pick up more cars. I tried to extend rental 1 more day and that day would have been over twice what my rental was per day.

The problem itself is not with the car rental company, but with the Kayak. I made the first reservation, however, with the wrong time, so the car rental company suggested that I make another reservation, which I did. I picked up a car and they charged me for 2. I'm waiting for a response to this.

There were literally hundreds of people in line because other rental car companies were out of cars. Thrifty agents were pleasant despite the crush of people, and a difficult situation went well. Amazing.

Excellent service

The agent at the counter told us we did not need a toll pass and we did. We went through one toll. I told them and they would not remove the FINE with the toll. For this reason, I will not rent from them again.

Nice car. Very rude employee in the garage (the one who gave me the key). No manners, and very rude.

There was nothing good about ace, they have bad customer service.

Hands down one of the worst customer service in person pick ups, ever, the guys coffee and hi lk sipping it was more important than all else. Rep kept repeating himself like people are stupid. Was not there to help at all.

The location was closed at the time of my arrival. I was not able to get a car, even though I had a reservation. I had to go get a car without a reservation from a different company.

Was overcharged by over $100+ at unmanned drop off in Punta Gorda though I returned the vehicle early. Had to call Budget Customer Service twice in order to get it resolved.

The car seemed over priced. The pick up and drop off was smooth.

Terrible. They advertise online they have cars in stock just to call in the morning that they are canceling my reservation, leaving me stranded in Tampa

nothing was explained to me , i waited an hour to get my car we did not walk around the car i had no clue how to work this car , there were strachs on the car , and they didnt tell me the drop off was worse , you just drop off the car and there is no one to help us , you just leave the keys in the car so in personal

I pre booked my car but upon arrival the Credit card machine wouldn’t read my card for the deposit. The person at the desk wasn’t willing to be helpful. So I went to Avis and rented because that person was able to be helpful.

I got exactly what I ordered. Hertz was organized and friendly.
