The space was clean and well appointed. Keep in mind this is a historic property and will have its lovely little quirks - which add to the charm. Hallways, unfortunately, are loud. It might help to remind guests to be thoughtful of volume, but not sure how to do that esthetically (plus you can't really teach politeness).
I am excited to see the construction compprice point. And glad to see the investment, I think the team should flag that while you are booking especially given the pricepoint just to set expectations.

Construction and too busy
My room was at top of the steps, noise level was unbearable! The doors were right past my room, everyone kept closing them with a loud bang.The elevator was on the side of my wall and I kept hearing it going up and down all night. I wasn't able to sleep.
Customer service was excellent friendly informed and appreciative
The hedge maze is cool from the movie but with the new construction to add more to the hotel the maze in my opinion should be removed to resemble the original hotel

We loved the main building and the setting. Sitting in the veranda enjoying everything
When we arrived we were down in the new part of the hotel. We felt this was expensive for what it was and certainly didn’t have the same atmosphere. We spoke to reception and asked if they had space in the main hotel we were very happy to pay any difference.
