If possible, I would give this location zero stars. For Christmas, my father and I went to Guatemala. We rented an SUV. First of all, the directions say that there is a telephone in the airport to call for a shuttle. This was not true. We ended up having to walk there. We even had some airport attendants who were there call from their cellphones since we do not speak Spanish. No shuttle was sent. Next, they charged me $24 a day for supplemental car insurance. I understand the need for supplemental car insurance in Guatemala after experiencing the road conditions. I had no problem with that. Which is why I bought it through Kayak when I reserved the car through Alliance. I showed this to the rental agent and he said it was not accepted in Guatemala. That is untrue. The fee he charged me for insurance was almost equivalent to the cost of the entire rental. How is that possible? He now doubled my cost PLUS I was stuck paying for the insurance I bought through Kayak. I did a quick search for an SUV with any other company and realized that due to the holiday rush, none were available. I was forced to either navigate myself through public transportation in a dangerous country which I did not research prior to arriving or paying
