Entrants must submit their video URL to a unique URL that will be emailed to each entrant by momondo. If an entrant has misplaced the email containing their unique video submission URL, they can request a replacement by emailing letsopenourworld@momondo.com with ‘Video submission URL’ in the subject line.

  40. Entrants must submit to momondo their raw video file entry upon request. momondo will provide an entrant with detailed instructions should the occasion arise.
  41. All entrants participating in phase two of the competition will receive an email confirming receipt of their entry.
  42. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, incomprehensible, corrupted or fail to reach the Promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
  43. One entry per person. If an entrant attempts to enter the competition more than once, only their first entry will be considered eligible.
  44. A quick step-by-step guide for recording a phase two entry is provided below.
  45. How to record and submit an entry

    1. Set up your camera. Do a test recording so you know your face will be in frame.

    2. When you're all set, hit 'Record'. Now it’s time to open and read out loud your DNA results.

    3. When you're ready to upload your video, sign into your preferred video platform (e.g. YouTube or Vimeo), with your account.

    4. Upload your video.

    5. Remember you can set the video privacy settings – make sure you make it public or accessible to those with the link.

  46. By submitting a phase two entry, each entrant grants to the Promoter a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, everlasting license to edit, publish, translate, modify, adapt, make available and distribute the entry throughout the world in any media now known or hereafter invented. Each entrant undertakes to complete any necessary documentation to formalize the license. If an entrant does not wish to grant these rights, they must not submit their phase two entry. Each entrant also accepts that the Promoter is free to publish their name and video on the Promoter’s websites and social media channels (including Facebook and Instagram), and make them available upon request.
  47. By submitting their phase two entry, each entrant confirms that their entry is their wholly-owned creation and, to the extent that such entry makes use of any third party materials, that these have been fully cleared unless they are no longer protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights. Entrants will keep the Promoter harmless from any claims in relation to their entry that the entry infringes the personal or proprietary right of any other person.
  48. The key judging criteria for an eligible entry is the entrant’s enthusiasm, articulateness and expression when reading their DNA results aloud. The jury will also be looking for emotional expression, reference to family history and the quality of storytelling.
  49. A single jury will judge all eligible entries. The jury is comprised of the lead local marketing representatives from momondo. The full name of the judge is available upon written request. Post a self-addressed envelope to: momondo Marketing, Løvstræde 1-3, 1., 1152 Copenhagen K, Denmark. Mark the back of the envelope addressed to momondo, with ‘The DNA Competition Judges’.
  50. The winner selection procedure will NOT take the form of a lottery.
  51. There will be one winner in phase two of the competition. 1st prize is a DNA journey, a 2.000 CAD journey to countries found in the winner’s DNA results.
  52. All prizes are non-transferrable and no cash alternative will be offered.
  53. The phase two winner will be selected and contacted via email on August 4th, 2017.
  54. Prize winners will be contacted via the email address they provided when submitting their phase one entry.
  55. The phase two winner is required to accept their prize by email within seven days of notification. If the competition winner fails to accept the prize within seven days, they will forfeit the prize without recourse. In the event of non-acceptance, a supplementary winner may be determined at the Promoter’s discretion.
  56. The phase two 1st prize winner is responsible for planning their DNA journey itinerary, and finding the requisite suppliers for all flights and accommodation (the winner will not make any bookings themselves). The winner must plan their DNA journey on momondo – i.e. they must find suppliers via momondo.com. The winner has a maximum of four weeks to conduct this planning. At the end of their planning phase, they must submit to momondo a fully documented email of proposed bookings. All proposed bookings must total no more than 2.000 CAD. The amount of countries/regions visited is up to the winner provided the total cost of the journey (flights and accommodation) is 2.000 CAD or under and the countries/regions are found in their DNA.
  57. The travel must be completed before 00:00, December 31st, 2018. The winner may invite one travel partner for a portion of, or all of, their journey. If the travel partner is not of adult age, and if the winner is not the legal guardian of the travel partner, the winner is responsible for seeking permission for the travel partner to travel from the travel partner’s legal guardian. The cost of their travel partner’s flights and accommodation must come from the prize fund. The winner must also submit scanned copies of their (and, if applicable), their travel partner’s passports photo pages. Further details will be provided to the winner once they have accepted their prize. Once momondo has received all the requisite documentation, momondo will complete the bookings on behalf of the winner. In the event of one or more of the winner’s proposed bookings no longer being available, and/or price fluctuations having caused the total value of proposed bookings to exceed the prize fund, momondo and the prize winner will enter a correspondence in order to find alternative bookings. If the value of winner’s journey totals less than 2.000 CAD, the remainder of the prize fund will not be transferred as cash to the entrant.
  58. The phase two 1st prize winner is responsible for paying all additional costs associated with the prize that are not specifically included (as stated in these terms and conditions), including, where applicable, visa fees, communication costs, transport to and from the respective airports, additional accommodation fees, living expenses, spending money, insurance and all other incidentals.
  59. The phase two 1st prize winner is responsible for any costs associated with changes or cancellations in connection with their flights and accommodation.
  60. The Promoter holds no responsibility or liability for phase two 1st prize winner and their travel partner. Insurance is not included in the prize. The Promoter strongly advises the winner and their guest to take out comprehensive travel insurance for the duration of their travel. The Promoter will not be held responsible for any flight or accommodation cancellations and, therefore, advises the winner to ensure cancellation is included in their travel insurance.
  61. To request a list of the names of all phase two winners and the participating countries in which they reside, please email letsopenourworld@momondo.com no sooner than four weeks after the phase two closing date, stating ‘The DNA competition: phase two winners’ in the subject line.
